LLL began as a promoter of art and literature events, running spring and autumn seasons and one-off events, and steadily acquiring a reputation for inventive, eclectic programming. 

An evening of music from around the world. Internationally renowned singer & cultural activist Polina Shepherd (pictured) was originally from Siberia and now lives in Brighton.  Her evocative singing, based on traditional forms, cuts a sound deeply rooted in east European Jewish and Slavic folk songs. Pam and De Femmes are an extraordinary band well-known in Lewes for their unique and eclectic brand of multilingual musical exuberance, performing songs from a range of musical traditions sung in over 30 languages.
