The Russian Allen Ginsberg and the Jewish Robert Plant united in a folk-cabaret The Stranniki (The Wanderers), fusing folklore and chamber song, Yiddish and Russian, classic and avant-garde, academia and circus. POLINA SHEPHERD (UK, formerly Kazan, Russia), singer, composer, choir leader and pianist, Notably, she is a descendant of a legendary wandering philosopher Grigory Skovoroda, whose wisdom spiritually “rhymes” a lot with Polina’s creative experience.
