SUMMARY:Yiddish in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:The 4th Summer Program for Yiddish Language and Literature in Berlin will be held at the Institute for East European Studies at the Free University of Berlin from August 12th to 30th\, 2024. Polina will be teaching Yiddish choir sessions as part of this course on 12 and 14 August.\nFor three weeks\, the Institute for East European Studies hosts students from all around the world\, offering a rich face-to-face program of language courses and cultural activities. \nThe pedagogical team under the direction of Yitskhok Niborski will offer an intensive program of Yiddish courses\, workshops (songs\, theatre\, conversation\, cooking)\, visits\, lectures\, film screenings… \nIn addition to five levels of language and literature classes ranging from beginner to advanced\, we will organise a three-week pedagogical training seminar for emerging Yiddish teachers. \nScholarships will be granted to allow young students from all over the world to come and improve their skills and engage with other Yiddish speakers. \n\nRelated Images:
