Leaders: North Carolina folk singer and VH/Northern Harmony alumna Suzannah Park, South African composer-director Bongani Magatyana, and Polina Shepherd from Brighton, UK, an expert teacher of Yiddish and Russian folk song.
You don’t have to be a Village Harmony teen camp alumnus to join in. Limited financial aid is available for this trip, based on need.
The day-long study-performance “alumni” camp in the UK will be led by a expert trio of teachers and designed specifically for older teens and young adults between the ages of 16-26. Emphasis will be on creating and delivering a stellar concert program while enjoying the northern UK countryside and the hospitality of the local communities hosting our performances.
The camp will begin on Friday, June 27 in Seahouses, a lovely seaside town about an hour north of Newcastle in Northumberland. Accommodations will be in the spacious Seahouses Hostel . We will arrange transportation from Newcastle on that day. You will need to arrive in Newcastle at the latest by noon that day, but it would be even better if you can get there the day before. For those of you flying from abroad, we will be sending out information about flights to Newcastle by late wintertime.
