Shepherd’s compositions are highly original and sensitive Songlines, N50, 2008 Polina Shepherd is a composer, singer, pianist, choir leader, and educator.She has performed and taught internationally. Polina is a representative artist of The Brighton Festival of World Sacred Music and is part of the Natural Voice Practitioners" Network. The Polina Shepherd Vocal Experience (PSVE) covers many aspects of vocal music from large scale choral experimentation, improvisation and self-expression within a choir structure, to highly arranged and conducted choir pieces, to smaller chamber groups, vocal duo, solo voice…All with or without instrumental accompaniment. Her specially developed choral teaching methods are based on instrumental ornamentation and Jewish modes. As a pianist works with the Sound & Light Cinematic Duo, who play live accompaniment to rare black and white films. Also she is a member of the Merlin Shepherd Kapelye featuring the Former Soviet Union Klezmer Allstars. As a Russian and Yiddish style singer works in Max Pashm"s Never Mind the Balkans. Polina"s songs, music for choirs, vocal groups and instrumental bands, and Jewish theatre projects are performed over the world.
